3. Winslow – “Standin’ on the Corner” Park
Take a photo at the famous corner from The Eagles’ song Take It Easy.
Grab a bite at the historic La Posada Hotel, one of the last great railway hotels on Route 66.
Visit the Meteor Crater just outside of town – a massive impact site nearly a mile wide!
4. Two Guns & Apache Death Cave
Explore the eerie ruins of this abandoned roadside attraction.
Learn about the legend of the Apache Death Cave, a tragic and dark piece of Arizona history.
5. Flagstaff – Mother Road Charm & Dark Skies
Stroll through the downtown historic district with classic diners, neon signs, and vintage vibes.
Stop at Flagstaff Brewing Company for a local beer and soak in the old-school atmosphere.
Take a nighttime detour to Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered!
6. Williams – Gateway to the Grand Canyon
Ride the Grand Canyon Railway, a vintage train that takes you straight to the South Rim.
Visit classic Route 66 diners like Cruiser’s Café 66 for a burger and live music.
Check out Bearizona, a drive-through wildlife park with bears, bison, and wolves.
7. Seligman – Birthplace of Route 66 Revival
Visit Delgadillo’s Snow Cap Drive-In, a quirky, must-stop roadside burger joint.
Walk around town to see vintage cars, murals, and historic Route 66 signs.
Meet Angel Delgadillo (if he’s around), the barber who helped save Route 66!
8. Grand Canyon Caverns
Take a tour 260 feet underground in this giant dry cave system.
You can even stay overnight in the caverns if you’re up for a unique (and eerie) experience!
9. Hackberry General Store
A true blast from the past, this roadside stop is packed with classic cars, old signs, and Route 66 memorabilia.
It’s a perfect photo stop and a great place to grab a souvenir.
10. Kingman – Heart of Route 66
Visit the Arizona Route 66 Museum to learn about the history of the road.
Check out Mr. D’z Route 66 Diner, a retro 1950s-style eatery with great milkshakes.
See the Giganticus Headicus, a strange and oversized green tiki head.
11. Oatman – Wild West Ghost Town with Burros
Drive the scenic (and twisty!) Oatman Highway into this former gold mining town.
Meet the wild burros that roam the streets – they’re descendants of miners' pack animals.
Catch a staged Old West gunfight in the middle of town.
